1880s City Constable with Raised Baton

A Victorian city constable standing over a cobbled street with his wooden truncheon raised in his right hand, left arm dropped back, chin down and shoulders squared - a crowd-clearing or challenge pose.

The uniform is full 1880s municipal dress: a domed custodian-style helmet with a metal front badge and chin strap, a long double-breasted tunic with red collar and cuff facings, red piping down the front and two rows of brass buttons, a black leather duty belt with pouches and a whistle chain, straight trousers and low black boots. He stands on a cobblestone base.

Built to anchor a late-Victorian street scene - post him outside a gin palace or corner shop, in a market crowd, or at the edge of a riot vignette. He also serves as period law and order on a Victorian gaslight gaming board.
