A heavyset city patrolman takes his break sitting back on a plain timber bench, a striped enamel mug in one hand and a pastry raised in the other. He wears the tall-crowned peaked cap and badge, a double-breasted brass-buttoned tunic with a wide leather belt, breeches and high boots of the 1920s beat officer.

The relaxed sprawl, one leg pushed out and shoulders settled against the backrest, gives him a lot of character next to the usual upright uniform poses. The bench and cobbled ground disc are moulded as one piece.

Drop him outside a corner diner, a park path, a station concourse or a precinct house on a Prohibition-era street scene. He also works as gentle background humour on any 1920s or 1930s town layout.
