1950s Traffic Police Officer

A city traffic officer of the 1950s standing square with his right hand raised flat in the universal halt signal. He wears a peaked service cap with badge, a belted tunic with patch breast pockets and a shield, a diagonal Sam Browne strap over the shoulder, a duty belt with holster, breeches and tall laced boots.

The raised palm makes him one of the most useful street figures you can place: he immediately implies stopped traffic, a crossing crowd, or a fresh accident just out of frame.

Fits post-war American Main Street layouts, mid-century downtown dioramas, and any 1940s-1960s road scene that needs a point of control at an intersection.
