A veteran city patrolman stands easy on his beat, nightstick held down at his side and the other hand loosely raised in a beckoning gesture. He wears the mid-century uniform in full: a peaked cap with cap shield, a buttoned tunic with breast badge and collar tie, straight trousers and plain black shoes.
His leather duty belt carries a holster, a cartridge loop, cuff case and baton ring, all sculpted crisply enough to pick out with a fine brush.
He belongs on a 1950s Main Street corner, outside a diner or theatre, at a station entrance, or walking the sidewalk of a mid-century city layout. Add a parked patrol car and a couple of pedestrians for a complete period street scene.
