A tall, lean county lawman walking a slow beat, hands loose at his sides. He wears a pale tan shirt with flap pockets and a five-point star on the chest, matching trousers tucked into tall leather boots, a wide gun belt with a holstered revolver on the hip, and a light straw cowboy hat.
The walk is unhurried and slightly stiff-backed, which is what sells the character: a small-town sheriff making his rounds rather than a figure in the middle of an incident.
He belongs on a 1940s-to-1960s American small-town scene, a rural depot platform, a courthouse square or a roadside diner. He also passes as a ranch foreman or a rural marshal on an older Western layout.
