A city police officer from the mounted unit, posed as a rider: legs bowed and set apart to sit a saddle, one hand low on the reins with a leather crop and rein tail hanging free. The stance means he seats straight onto a horse, but he also reads convincingly as a rider standing beside his mount.
The uniform is classic late-20th-century big-city patrol: a flat peaked cap with a shield badge, dark tunic shirt with a breast badge, collar pips and a shoulder patch, a leather duty belt with cartridge loops and a holstered sidearm, and dark trousers over service shoes. A radio antenna rides at his shoulder.
He fits a downtown crowd-control scene, a park patrol, a parade route or a station-front vignette on an urban layout from the 1970s through the 1990s.
