A travelling musician walks and plays at the same time, fingers on the neck of a pear-bodied lute with a rosette soundhole. He wears a blue plumed cap, a slashed doublet in blue and red with puffed sleeves, a layered green tunic and hose, a shoulder satchel and soft leather ankle boots.

The costume is high Renaissance in cut, and the loose walking stride suits a market square, a tavern doorway or a procession. He is sculpted on a cobbled round base that blends into most town bases.
