This asset represents a compact, generic rescue/service cargo van modeled with an emphasis on a clean, readable silhouette for small-scale hobby use. The geometry is intentionally low-poly: broad planar panels, simplified door and rear-door suggestions, shallow wheel arch cutouts, and a slightly raised rectangular roof pad meant as an attachment point for a small light bar or antenna. The surface is free of manufacturer logos or operational text so you can apply your own decals, paint schemes, or unit markings.

Contents and scale note

- One master file scaled to HO (1:87) is supplied as the canonical master. This master is intended to be printed at 100% to produce a correctly proportioned HO vehicle. Conversion guidance is provided in the printing notes below to scale the master uniformly for other hobby scales.

Visible features and modelling intent

- Silhouette and proportions: compact front bonnet, upright cargo box and a squared-off rear give the van a compact footprint ideal for tight street scenes and loading bays. Dimensions and door geometry are simplified to keep tiny features robust at small scales.

- Low-poly paneling: the bodywork uses broad planar faces rather than fine engraved detail. This approach preserves a readable look at HO scale while reducing fragile micro-geometry that can fail on very small prints.

- Wheel wells and underside: wheel arch cutouts are shallow and sized for standard hobby wheels. The underside is simplified, reducing the need for delicate supports and improving stability when printing.

- Roof pad attachment: the roof hosts a flat, slightly raised rectangular pad sized to accept a small aftermarket or printed light bar. The pad is a glue/attachment suggestion only; no accessories are included.

- Generic rescue cues: form language, roof pad, and suggested paneling imply emergency/service use. Surfaces are otherwise neutral so the piece is suitable for ambulance, fire support, municipal service, or utility variations after finishing.

Primary uses

This van is designed for HO model railroaders, urban diorama builders, and tabletop hobbyists who need compact service vehicles that read clearly at small scale. It is ideal for street scenes, station forecourts, industrial yards, parking areas, and quick kitbash projects where a strong silhouette and durable printability are preferable to manufacturer-accurate detail.

Printing and finishing guidance

- Master scale: print the supplied master at 100% for HO (1:87). To print at other scales, uniformly scale the master by the ratio of the target scale denominator to 87 (for example, to approximate OO 1:76 scale, scale by 87/76 ≈ 1.145; to approximate N 1:160 scale, scale by 87/160 ≈ 0.544). After scaling, visually verify wheelbase and overall footprint against other vehicles in your collection.

- Orientation: FDM — lay the van on its roof to minimize bridging across wheel wells and to reduce supports under the main body; add minimal supports at the wheel lip cutouts as needed. Resin — orient slightly nose-up and place supports under the wheel arches and rear overhang.

- Layer heights: resin 0.025–0.05 mm for fine detail, 0.05–0.1 mm for faster runs. FDM 0.12–0.20 mm depending on nozzle and finish preference.

- Supports and fragile areas: the model is designed to be robust, but consider small supports under wheel arch lips and the rear overhang. Treat the roof pad as a glue point rather than a structural mounting surface.

- Finishing: sand support scars lightly and prime before applying paint and decals. The faceted panels accept washes and dry-brushing well for quick fleet finishes or weathered looks.

Customization and kitbashing

The neutral, generic geometry is intended to be a starting point. Glue a small light bar to the roof pad, add wire or printed antennas, carve recesses for custom decals, or combine with other vehicle parts for conversion projects. If you require accessory geometry (matching light bar or specific door seams), a custom request will allow those additions.

Limitations and provenance

This asset originates from a legacy auto-stubbed project and is intentionally generic; identity confidence is low (0.30). The model favors a printable silhouette over prototype-accurate detail: exact maker identity, precise door arrangements, and millimeter-accurate prototype dimensions are not preserved in source metadata. If you require a verified prototype or an exact manufacturer match, request a manual revision.

License and usage

Standard Miniature Reality licensing applies. Personal printing and limited commercial usage under the shop license are permitted. Redistribution of the master or mass production is restricted—contact us for commercial licensing or commission work.
