A middle-aged man stands squarely in a three-piece brown suit of mid-century cut, with wide notched lapels, a patch-pocket jacket, a buttoned waistcoat over a cream shirt, a patterned green tie and pleated trousers breaking over brown leather brogues. A dark felt fedora with a banded brim sits low on his head.

One hand rests at his side while the other is raised at chest height holding a small white item between the fingers, and his expression is calm and businesslike as he looks off to one side.

He belongs on a 1950s railway station concourse, a ticket office queue, a downtown office frontage, or a hotel lobby, and works well as a period bystander in a Main Street or film-noir style diorama.
