Paratrooper Under Open Canopy

A special-operations parachutist hanging in his harness beneath a fully inflated round canopy. The canopy is sewn in camouflage panels with a vent at the apex, and the suspension lines run down in two tight risers to the shoulders, keeping the whole assembly steady on its mount.

The trooper wears a jump helmet with goggles, a chest rig with pouches, gloves and knee pads, and carries a carbine across his front with a magazine fitted. A heavy rucksack is slung below him on a lowering line, legs together and toes down for a landing. The piece stands on a small hex plinth so the canopy floats overhead.

Made for airborne insertion scenes on a wargame table or a diorama: a drop zone edge, a night raid vignette or a display piece beside a transport aircraft. The tall silhouette also works as an eye-catching shelf model on its own.
