A compact upright mill engine in dark teal-green paint with brass fittings. Two large spoked flywheels are carried on a shaft across the top of the frame, driven through a broad toothed gear wheel on one side, and a vertical cylinder with a polished sight glass and drain cocks stands at the centre of the casting.
The engine is bolted down to a rectangular bedplate with raised ribs and corner mounting pads. Governor linkage, small valve levers and pipe stubs project from the sides, and the paint is worn through to rust along the edges and around the fasteners.
Ideal for a Victorian or early-industrial workshop, a mill floor, a sawmill, a pump house or a mine head. It also makes convincing museum-piece or steampunk machinery on a fantasy or pulp board.
