US Army Rifleman on Jungle Patrol

An American infantryman moves forward at a walking patrol pace, rifle held across the body at the ready with one hand on the pistol grip and the other under the handguard. He wears woodland-pattern jungle fatigues with slanted chest pockets, a floppy boonie hat, a webbing belt with ammunition pouches and a small pack riding high on his back.

The sleeves are rolled to the elbow and the trousers are bloused into black jungle boots, all consistent with a hot, humid theatre. He comes on a small earth base planted with tufts of broad-leaved tropical grass that ties him straight into a trail or clearing.

He works for Vietnam-era and later Cold War skirmish tables, firebase and patrol dioramas, and any tropical or subtropical board. Line up several with a point man and a radio operator to build a convincing squad strung out along a track.
