Baja Beetle Desert Racer

A classic rear-engined people's car reborn as a desert runner. The blue body keeps its round fenders and split-window profile, but rides high on knobby off-road tyres with yellow flared arches, a tubular front bumper and nudge bar, side rock rails and an exposed spare mounted at the nose.

The full roof rack carries a stack of driving lights, a flat cargo box, sand ladders and traction boards, with a side ladder for access and a snorkel-style intake running up the rear quarter.

A great character vehicle for a dusty rally or off-road scene, an overlander parked outside a desert filling station, or a scavenger ride on a post-apocalyptic wargaming board. Fits anything from a 1970s Baja run to a modern trail meet.
