This digital miniature reproduces a boxy long-roof estate (station wagon) silhouette commonly associated with late 1990s / 2000s family cars. The geometry emphasizes an uninterrupted straight roof that terminates in a nearly vertical rear hatch, producing a tall cargo-oriented profile that reads clearly at HO 1:87. The body is intentionally slab-sided: panel definition uses shallow recessed seams rather than fragile raised trims to improve survival in small-scale printing and handling.

Key visible geometry features:

- Extended straight roof with modest roof-rail area and squared near-vertical rear hatch that produces a clear estate silhouette at HO 1:87.

- Recessed window apertures (pockets) rather than separate glazing parts to reduce fragile thin elements when printed at small scales.

- Door and hatch panel seams modeled as shallow recesses designed to accept paint weathering and washes without creating delicate raised details.

- Simplified wheel arches and slightly oversized openings to accept scenic wheel inserts or to print as a single-piece static car; bumpers integrated into the body with modest relief instead of separate tiny attachments.

- Lighting housings represented as shallow recessed shapes without lens detail; small appendages such as mirror stalks and antennae are merged or thickened to survive printing at HO scale.

What you receive:

- One master STL exported at HO 1:87 scale (this is the single master file supplied). Miniature Reality supplies a 1:87 master plus a concise conversion guide — we do not ship multiple pre-scaled masters.

- A one-page conversion guide showing multipliers to rescale the 1:87 master to other common scales (examples included for N 1:160, 1:72, 1:64, 1:48) and suggested resampling workflow.

- A one-page print checklist with recommended layer heights, support placement tips, hollowing notes, and finishing suggestions specific to small automotive shapes.

Printability notes:

The mesh was intentionally simplified to balance silhouette fidelity with practical printability at HO. For resin (MSLA) printing we recommend layer heights between 0.025 and 0.05 mm to capture shallow panel recesses without accentuating tiny artifacts. For fused filament (FDM) printing, use 0.12–0.20 mm layers and expect smoother results with finer nozzles and slower speeds. Recessed windows and integrated bumpers reduce the need for fragile supports; place minimal supports under the chassis, wheel wells, and front valance as needed. If hollowing for resin economy, maintain at least 2–3 mm wall thickness in narrow sections and add escape holes in low-visibility areas.

Scenic fit and use cases:

This estate wagon is ideal for suburban streets, station parking lots, driveways, or roadside scenes on HO model-railroad layouts. Its boxy, recognizable silhouette reads well at a glance, making it useful for populating streets, station forecourts, service bays, or diorama driveway scenes. The simplified detail set accepts light weathering techniques such as panel shading and rust streaks without requiring excessive cleanup. Recessed windows are convenient for painting a dark glazing effect or for gluing thin acetate inserts after printing.

Brand note and verification:

The original legacy filename referenced a Volvo estate silhouette; the mesh reflects a Volvo-type profile but does not carry distinct manufacturer badges or OEM-level detail that would verify a precise make or year. Identity confidence is low. Treat this as a stylized Volvo-style estate/station wagon suitable for scenic use rather than a certified OEM reproduction. If you require an accurate match to a specific model year or trim, request manual verification or a commission for a prototype-accurate conversion.

Customization and support:

Contact Miniature Reality via the product page for paid mesh work such as separate glazing pockets, strengthening thin features, adding bolt-on roof racks, or converting the shell into a printable kit with separate wheels.

Licensing and contents:

This purchase contains one HO 1:87 master STL, one conversion guide, and one print checklist. The master is intended for personal use in dioramas, train layouts, and hobby displays. Commercial redistribution of the raw STL is not permitted without an appropriate license from Miniature Reality.
